How Seedance API billing works (November 2026): rates, rounding and worked examples

How the Seedance 2.0 API is billed: per-second rates, token rounding, refunds and rate limits, with worked examples and what to check in a provider.

KreatorFlow8 min read

Short answer

On the KreatorFlow API, Seedance costs per second of video: Seedance 2.0 $0.110 at 720p, $0.240 at 1080p and $0.580 at 4K; Seedance 2.0 Fast $0.084 at 720p and $0.183 at 1080p; Seedance 2.0 Mini $0.067 at 720p and $0.135 at 1080p; Seedance 2.5 $0.207 at 720p, $0.444 at 1080p and $0.999 at 4K. In the KreatorFlow studio, Seedance 2.0 works out at about $0.119 per second at 720p and $0.238 at 1080p on the Max plan. You prepay tokens of $0.05 from $20, with no subscription, and each job is the rate times its length, rounded up to the next whole token. KreatorFlow is the cheapest Seedance API at 720p and 1080p for Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0 and Seedance 2.0 Fast.

How to work out what a clip costs

  1. 1

    Pick the model and resolution

The per-second rate depends on both: Seedance 2.0 Fast costs less than Seedance 2.0, and 1080p costs more than 720p because more pixels are rendered. The console's Models page lists each model's rate, resolutions, lengths and API id.

KreatorFlow developer console Models page listing Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0, Seedance 2 Fast and Seedance 2.0 Mini with price per second, resolutions, lengths and model ids

  2. 2

Multiply the rate by the clip length

That gives the raw price. On the KreatorFlow API, Seedance 2.0 at 720p is $0.110 per second, so 5 seconds come to $0.550.

  3. 3

    Apply the provider's rounding

KreatorFlow rounds each job up to the next whole token of $0.05: $0.550 becomes 11 tokens, $0.55. The Playground shows that quote before a run, next to the exact API call. Other providers round per second, per job or in video tokens.

  4. 4

Add what the job sends in

If you pass a reference video, check whether the provider bills its input seconds as well; some do.

  5. 5

    Compare like for like

Same model, resolution, length and aspect ratio on every provider, at the price your account would pay today. The Seedance API price comparison does this setting by setting.

  6. 6

Top up and send the job

Create an account and an API key, top up from $20 (no subscription), and send the request. Each job is quoted and reserved before it runs; failed or blocked jobs give the tokens back.

Seedance 2.0 and 2.5, 720p and above. List rate per second is the rate card price; a clip is billed at that rate and its total rounded up to whole tokens ($0.05), which is why a 5-second clip can cost a cent or two more than rate x 5. Top-up columns: 5-second clips each top-up covers, without a video input. A 10-second clip uses about twice the tokens.

How Seedance API billing works

Per second: every provider sells Seedance by the second of generated video. A clip twice as long costs twice as much.

Per resolution: some providers bill in video tokens worked out from the frames generated, seconds × width × height × 24 / 1024. At 720p (1280 × 720) that is 21,600 tokens per second and at 1080p (1920 × 1080) 48,600, so the price follows the pixel count.

KreatorFlow tokens: on the KreatorFlow API you prepay tokens (1 token = $0.05, top-ups from $20 to $5,000). Each job is quoted before it is accepted, from the model, resolution and length, and the quote is what you are charged. Tokens reserved for a job that fails are released back to your balance.

Video input: on some providers a reference video changes the bill, because they charge for the input seconds as well as the output. On the KreatorFlow API, a job with a reference or source video is billed on input plus output seconds at 60% of the normal per-second rate, and never costs less than the same job without that video. Seedance 2.0 runs from 4 to 15 seconds on the API.

Worked example: one clip, step by step

A 5-second Seedance 2.0 clip at 720p on the KreatorFlow API: $0.110 per second × 5 seconds = $0.550. Rounded up to whole tokens that is 11 tokens, or $0.55.

The same sum for 10 seconds at 1080p: $0.240 × 10 = $2.400, so 48 tokens ($2.40).

A batch of 100 clips like the first one costs $55.

The next price we found for that 720p clip on 30 October 2026 was $0.90 on Replicate.

How the KreatorFlow API ranks, setting by setting (November 2026)

Each Seedance setting at 720p and 1080p for a 5 s, 16:9 clip with no video input, against every provider we checked on 30 October 2026 that publishes it, at each provider's regular list price (temporary promotions are not used). At 4K we show our own price and make no ranking claim.

  • Seedance 2.0, 720p: KreatorFlow first of 5 providers at $0.55 per 5 s clip; next Replicate at $0.90.
  • Seedance 2.0, 1080p: KreatorFlow first of 5 providers at $1.20 per 5 s clip; next Kinovi at $2.119.
  • Seedance 2.0 Fast, 720p: KreatorFlow first of 5 providers at $0.45 per 5 s clip; next Kinovi at $0.659.
  • Seedance 2.0 Mini, 720p: KreatorFlow number 2 of 3 prices at $0.35 per 5 s clip; Kie.ai lists $0.205.
  • Seedance 2.5, 720p: KreatorFlow first of 5 providers at $1.05 per 5 s clip; next Replicate at $1.156.
  • Seedance 2.5, 1080p: KreatorFlow first of 4 providers at $2.25 per 5 s clip; next Kinovi at $3.302.

Where another provider is cheaper

KreatorFlow is not the lowest price at every setting. Here is where someone we checked lists less, with the price and the date:

  • Seedance 2.0 Mini, 720p on the API: Kie.ai lists $0.205 for a 5 s clip against $0.35 on KreatorFlow (checked 25 October 2026). KreatorFlow is number 2 of the 3 prices we checked for this setting.
  • Seedance is not the lowest-priced video model per second. On their makers' own pages, Google Veo 3.1 Lite with audio is $0.05 a second at 720p and Veo 3.1 Fast with audio $0.10 (Vertex AI), and Kling 3.0 without audio is about $0.084 on Kling's API. Seedance 2.0 on the KreatorFlow API is $0.110 a second at 720p. Pick the model for the result you need, then compare prices for that model.

What to check in a provider

The per-second price is only the starting point. Before you compare, check each provider's page for:

  • Promotions: launch prices and limited-time offers end. Compare the price you will pay after them. The rankings on this page use regular list prices only and leave promotions out.
  • List or account price: some pages show visitors one price and a lower one after sign-in. Use the one your account pays.
  • Rounding: per second, per job or to a whole token, and whether there is a minimum length.
  • Video input: whether the seconds of a reference video are billed on top.
  • Audio: fal.ai's published rates include generated audio.
  • Same resolution and aspect ratio: the comparison uses 16:9 output, in US dollars before tax.

Volume pricing for the Seedance API

The more you top up, the less Seedance video costs. Your tier comes from the token top-ups you paid for in the last 30 days. It lowers the per-second price of Seedance video and raises your video request limit, automatically, with no contract and no sales call. If your top-ups drop, the tier moves back down.

Every job's quote shows your price before it runs; a few low-priced settings get a smaller discount. Smaller top-ups add up toward a tier too. Price comparisons on this site use list prices unless a price is marked as at volume. Need more volume? Custom pricing for committed monthly spend: email harry@kreatorflow.ai.

  • Standard: Any · List price · 20 video requests / minute
  • Scale: $1,000+ · up to 5% off · 60 video requests / minute

  • Enterprise: $5,000+ · up to 10% off · 300 video requests / minute

Seedance API questions other pricing pages skip

Most Seedance API pages stop at a per-second table. These are the questions developers ask next, answered from the KreatorFlow API's own code.

Do I need a BytePlus account or a resource plan to call Seedance 2.0?

Not on the KreatorFlow API. You sign up, create a key in the developer console and top up prepaid tokens from $20, with no subscription, enterprise contract or resource plan to buy first. The same key calls every Seedance model the console lists.

Does a failed or refused job cost anything?

No. Each job is quoted and its tokens reserved before it runs. If it fails, including when a safety check blocks it, the reserved tokens are released back to your balance, so you only pay for finished video.

Source: Guide: failed generations and billing

What are the rate limits?

Video requests are limited per API key per minute: 20 on the standard tier, rising to 60 (Scale), 120 (Growth), 300 (Enterprise) as your top-ups in the last 30 days grow. Over the limit, the API answers 429 rate_limited with a Retry-After header, so back off for that many seconds instead of retrying at once.

How long does a Seedance job take?

From the studio's render-time estimates, fitted on finished jobs on the same provider in early October 2026: about 3 minutes for a 5-second Seedance 2.0 clip at 720p and about 5 minutes for 10 seconds at 1080p. Seedance 2 Fast took about 8 minutes at 480p whatever the length: it saves money, not time. Use a webhook instead of tight polling.

How long does the output link last?

Not forever. A finished job reports when the provider's file link expires (providerOutputExpiresAt). Download the file through GET /v1/jobs/{id}/output with your API key and keep it in your own storage; that endpoint is a private download, not a public CDN for your users.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the Seedance 2.0 API cost?

On the KreatorFlow API, Seedance 2.0 at 720p is $0.110 per second: $0.55 for a 5-second clip (11 tokens of $0.05). Every model and resolution has its own rate; the comparison shows them all.

Which Seedance API has the lowest price?

It depends on the setting. On 30 October 2026, KreatorFlow had the lowest price we found for Seedance 2.0, 720p; Seedance 2.0, 1080p; Seedance 2.0 Fast, 720p; Seedance 2.5, 720p; Seedance 2.5, 1080p. It did not for Seedance 2.0 Mini, 720p; this page names the lower price. Compare the exact setting you will use.

Why does 1080p cost more than 720p?

Because more pixels are generated. Under the video-token formula, 720p is 21,600 tokens per second and 1080p is 48,600.

Does a reference video cost extra?

On some providers, yes: they bill the input seconds as well as the output. On the KreatorFlow API too: input and output seconds are billed at 60% of the normal per-second rate, never less than the same job without the video, and the quote is shown before the job is accepted.

How is a KreatorFlow API job rounded?

Rate × seconds, rounded up to the cent and then to the next whole token of $0.05. That quote is what you are charged, and tokens for a failed job are released.

Where do the other providers' prices come from?

From each provider's own pricing or model page, with the date it was read. We never use blogs or third-party figures, and we re-read every price at least every 90 days.

Is it the same Seedance model on every API?

Every provider in the comparison sells ByteDance's Seedance under that name. KreatorFlow is an official partner of BytePlus, a ByteDance company.

Is there volume pricing for the Seedance API?

Yes. Once your paid top-ups in the last 30 days reach $1,000, Seedance video costs up to 5% less per second, rising to up to 10% off at $5,000 (Enterprise), and your video request limit goes up with each tier. It applies automatically, with no contract, and each job's quote shows your price before it runs. For more volume than that, email harry@kreatorflow.ai.
