How to start with the Seedance API

Sign up and create a key
Sign in to the API console at developers.kreatorflow.ai and create an API key on the API keys tab.

Top up tokens
Add $20 or more from the billing tab, by card. The balance is shared by every key on your account; there is no subscription.

Send your first job
Call POST /v1/videos with an Idempotency-Key, as in the example below, then poll the job or receive a webhook. The response carries the quote before anything runs.

A Seedance and Seedream API without the setup

Developers searching for a Seedance API, a Seedream API or a BytePlus API usually want the same thing: send a prompt and some references, get a finished video or image back, and pay only for what they use. The KreatorFlow developer API does exactly that. Powered by ByteDance's Seedance 2.0 and Seedream models via BytePlus, a ByteDance company, and you call them through a small set of REST endpoints under /v1.

Video models are exposed as stable aliases (kreator-video-fast, kreator-video-seedance-2-fast, kreator-video-mini, kreator-video-seedance-2-mini, kreator-video-pro, kreator-video-seedance-2, kreator-video-seedance-2-5, kreator-video-wan-3, kreator-video-wan-3-prime, kreator-video-kling-3, kreator-video-kling-3-omni, kreator-video-kling-3-turbo, kreator-video-kling-4) and image models as kreator-image-fast, kreator-image-pro, kreator-image-wan-2-7-pro, kreator-image-wan-2-6, kreator-image-seedream-5-pro and kreator-image-seedream-5-flash. GET /v1/models returns each alias with its supported durations, aspect ratios, resolutions and reference limits, so your integration can read limits instead of hard-coding them. Seedance 2.0 renders from 4 to 15 seconds at up to 4K, with up to 9 image, 3 video and 3 audio references per job. Seedance 2.5 renders clips of up to 30 seconds at up to 4K.

Seedance 2.0 and 2.5, 720p and above. List rate per second is the rate card price; a clip is billed at that rate and its total rounded up to whole tokens ($0.05), which is why a 5-second clip can cost a cent or two more than rate x 5. Top-up columns: 5-second clips each top-up covers, without a video input. A 10-second clip uses about twice the tokens.

Volume pricing for the Seedance API

The more you top up, the less Seedance video costs. Your tier comes from the token top-ups you paid for in the last 30 days. It lowers the per-second price of Seedance video and raises your video request limit, automatically, with no contract and no sales call. If your top-ups drop, the tier moves back down.

Usage rules

The API follows the same Acceptable Use Policy as the studio. Requests that try to clone or impersonate a real person, celebrity or public figure are rejected before dispatch, and references must be media you own or have permission to use. If you want to create by hand rather than in code, the studio offers the same models.

How much does the Seedance 2.0 API cost per second?

List rate on the KreatorFlow API: $0.110 at 720p, $0.240 at 1080p and $0.580 at 4K, per second of delivered video, billed from prepaid tokens with no subscription. Volume price (from $5,000 in top-ups over 30 days): $0.099 at 720p, $0.216 at 1080p and $0.522 at 4K. Every job is quoted before it runs.

What does one Seedance 2.0 clip cost?

At the list rate a 5 second clip at 720p is $0.55 and a 10 second clip at 1080p is $2.40. A clip's total is rounded up to whole tokens ($0.05), so the clip price can sit a cent or two above rate times seconds.

Which API has the lowest Seedance 2.0 price?

As of 30 October 2026, the KreatorFlow API has the lowest listed price at 720p and 1080p for Seedance 2.0 (11 other providers list it), at our list rate, among the 12 API providers in the Seedance API Price Index. Every competitor price is the provider's regular list price, read on its own page; temporary promotions are listed separately and not used for ranking. Each row shows its check date. Do failed jobs cost anything?

No. Tokens are reserved when a job is accepted and released if it fails or is refused, so you pay only for delivered video.

Can I use Seedance pay as you go with no subscription?

Yes, on the KreatorFlow API. You prepay tokens at $0.05 each from a $20 top-up, with no subscription or contract, and each job is charged by the second of video: a 5-second Seedance 2.0 clip is $0.55 at 720p and $1.20 at 1080p. That makes the KreatorFlow API the cheapest for Seedance 2.0 at 720p and 1080p against all 12 other API providers we track (regular list prices, checked 25 October 2026 to 2 November 2026). Failed jobs give their tokens back. In the studio app, 1080p is on every paid plan and 4K video needs Pro, Max or Business, and one-time credit packs (from $8 for 160 credits) top a plan up. Is this the official Seedance API?

How many tokens does a Seedance API job use?

Usage is billed in prepaid tokens, and 1 token costs $0.05. A 5-second 720p Seedance 2.0 clip is 11 tokens (24 at 1080p and 58 at 4K), a Seedance 2 Fast clip of the same length is 9 tokens, and a Seedream 4.5 image is 2 tokens, all at the list rate. Top-ups run from $20 to $5000.

Does the Seedream API support reference images?

Yes. Upload images with POST /v1/uploads and pass the returned upload ids as references, or send public HTTPS URLs. Seedream 4.5 through kreator-image-pro accepts up to 14 references, and reusable characters can be registered once with POST /v1/characters.

Do I get webhooks or do I have to poll?

Both work. Pass webhook_url on a create request to receive job.completed, job.failed, job.canceled and job.blocked callbacks, signed with X-KreatorFlow-Signature using the secret from the Webhooks tab. Or poll GET /v1/jobs/{job_id}.

What happens if a job fails?

Tokens are reserved when a job starts and released when it fails, times out or is rejected before dispatch, so you are not charged for failed work. Sending a request again with the same Idempotency-Key returns the original job instead of creating a duplicate, so network retries are safe; use a new key for a fresh attempt.

Is there volume pricing for the Seedance API?

Yes. Once your paid top-ups in the last 30 days reach $1,000, Seedance video costs up to 5% less per second, rising to up to 10% off at $5,000 (Enterprise), and your video request limit goes up with each tier.
