Seedance 2.0 vs Fast vs Mini vs 2.5: which model to use

Which Seedance model to use for which job: Seedance 2.0 for final renders, Fast for drafts, Mini for high-volume tests. Credits per clip at every resolution.

KreatorFlow6 min read

Short answer

Use Seedance 2.0 for final renders and anything with references (up to 9 images, 3 clips and 3 audio clips), and Seedance 2.0 Fast for quick drafts. Seedance 2.0 Mini is the pick for high-volume tests and the cheapest 1080p. Seedance 2.5 is for longer clips of up to 30 seconds. On KreatorFlow a 5-second clip at 720p costs 15 credits with Seedance 2.0 and 12 with Fast, and 9 with Mini.

Which model for which job

  1. 1

    Final renders: Seedance 2.0

Clips of 4 to 15 seconds at 720p, 1080p and 4K, with image, video and audio references in one generation. The model for the shot you publish.

  2. 2

    Drafts: Seedance 2.0 Fast

Quicker and cheaper, up to 1080p. Test the prompt, the framing and the camera move here before you move to Seedance 2.0.

  3. 3

Volume tests and budget 1080p: Seedance 2.0 Mini

The cheapest way to try many variations. A 5-second 1080p clip costs only 17 credits.

  4. 4

    Long clips: Seedance 2.5

Clips of 4 to 30 seconds when a shot needs more time.

One prompt, from draft to final

Test the prompt on the cheaper model, then render it with Seedance 2.0 once it works. Every render is a new take, so expect small differences.

  • Product

A glass perfume bottle on black marble, the camera slowly orbits it, soft studio light, gold reflections.

  • Travel

Drone shot at sunrise over a black-sand beach, waves breaking slowly, one person walking towards the water.

  • Character

@mara looks out of a night train window, city lights sliding across her face, medium shot, calm mood.

Seedance 2.0 and 2.5, 720p and above. Plan columns: 5-second clips a month on the plan's full monthly credits. Longer clips cost the same per second, so a 10-second clip uses twice the credits. Generated audio is included. USD per second: each plan's price over its full monthly credits, lowest to highest plan; monthly is the regular monthly price, annual is the yearly price divided by 12.

The short answer

Pick the model by what the clip is for, not by which one is newest. If the clip will be published, or it has to show a real face, product or logo, use Seedance 2.0. If you are still finding the shot, use Fast or Mini: you can try more ideas for the same credits and only pay full price for the version that works.

The models are listed in the table above with the resolutions, clip lengths and credits the studio charges right now. The longest clip you can make in one take is 30 seconds, with Seedance 2.5.

Which model for your project

A few common jobs and the model we would start with for each.

  • Social clips for TikTok, Reels and Shorts: draft the hook on Mini at 720p, then render the version you post with Seedance 2.0 in 9:16.
  • Product ads: Seedance 2.0 from the start if the product has to look exactly like the real one, because it takes up to 9 image references for the bottle, the box and the logo.
  • A series with the same character: Seedance 2.0 with the same reference images or a saved @character in every clip, so the face stays the same from episode to episode.
  • Copying a camera move from another video: Seedance 2.0 with a video reference (up to 3 per generation).
  • Music and dance clips: Seedance 2.0 with the track as an audio reference (up to 3 per generation).
  • One long continuous shot: Seedance 2.5, which runs up to 30 seconds in a single take.
  • Testing dozens of prompt ideas or making a lot of short variations: Mini, the cheapest per clip at 9 credits for 5 seconds at 720p.

What drafting on a cheaper model saves

Most shots take a few tries before the framing and the motion are right. Say you need 10 attempts to find a 5-second shot at 720p. On Seedance 2.0 that is 150 credits. On Mini the same 10 drafts cost 90 credits, and then one final render on Seedance 2.0 at 1080p adds 30.

The prompt carries over: once a draft works, paste the same prompt into Seedance 2.0. Each render is a new take, so the final will not be a copy of the draft, but the subject, setting and camera move you tested will carry through.

Choosing the resolution

Seedance 2.0 renders at 720p, 1080p and 4K. 720p is enough for drafts and most phone viewing. Use 1080p for anything you publish, and higher only when the clip goes on a big screen or will be cropped in editing.

Resolution is the biggest driver of price after length: a 5-second Seedance 2.0 clip costs 15 credits at 720p and 30 at 1080p. The cost calculator shows the numbers for every model and resolution.

References and sound

Seedance 2.0 takes up to 9 images, 3 video clips and 3 audio files in one generation. Image references add nothing to the price. A video reference is billed on its own seconds as well as the output's: a 5-second clip with one 5-second reference video costs 19 credits at 720p instead of 15.

Generated sound doesn't change the price of a Seedance 2.0 clip.

When Seedance 2.5 is the right pick

Seedance 2.5 makes clips of 4 to 30 seconds at 720p, 1080p and 4K. Choose it when one shot needs more time than the other models allow, such as a long walk and talk or a slow reveal, instead of stitching several short clips together.

A 5-second Seedance 2.5 clip at 720p with one 5-second reference video costs 27 credits.

A workflow that saves credits

Make the first versions with Fast or Mini at 720p. When the shot works, render it with Seedance 2.0 at the final resolution: a 5-second clip at 1080p costs 30 credits.

If a specific face, product or style has to show up, use Seedance 2.0: it takes up to 9 image, 3 video and 3 audio references in one generation.

Price your own batch

The cost calculator tells you how many credits a batch of clips needs on each model and resolution, and which plan covers it.

Frequently asked questions

Which Seedance model is the best?

It depends on the job: Seedance 2.0 for final renders and references, Fast for drafts, Mini for high-volume tests.

Can I use the same prompt on different models?

What is the difference between Seedance 2.0 and Seedance 2.0 Fast?

Seedance 2.0 is the model for final renders and anything with references. Fast is quicker and cheaper (12 credits for 5 seconds at 720p against 15), which makes it the better choice for drafts and prompt tests.

What is the cheapest Seedance model?

On KreatorFlow right now: Seedance 2.0 Mini, at 9 credits for a 5-second 720p clip. The table above lists every model at every resolution.

Which Seedance model makes the longest videos?

Seedance 2.5, with clips of up to 30 seconds in one take.

Which Seedance model should I use with reference images?

Seedance 2.0. It takes up to 9 image references, 3 video clips and 3 audio files in one generation, and image references add nothing to the price.

Is 720p good enough for TikTok and Reels?
