How do I make a cartoon with Kartoonz?

Kartoonz turns one idea into a finished cartoon with characters and word-by-word captions, from 15 seconds to 8 minutes, in 720p. It is priced once for the whole cartoon by length and model: 252 credits a minute on Seedance 2.5, 189 on Seedance 2.0, 152 on Seedance 2.0 Fast and 126 on Seedance 2.0 Mini.

  1. Open Kartoonz and describe your cartoon in a line or two: what happens and who it stars.
  2. Optional: add characters or pictures from your uploads, generations or saved assets. The first one leads the story; with none, a character is designed from your idea.
  3. Pick a style (3D cartoon, anime, comic book, claymation and ink Toon), a shape (9:16, 1:1 or 16:9), a length from 15 seconds to 8 minutes and a model (Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0, Seedance 2.0 Fast or Seedance 2.0 Mini).
  4. Choose captions: one of 3 looks and 1 to 4 words per line, or off.
  5. Press Make my cartoon (the credit price is on the button), or Shape the story first to edit the story before anything is made.
  6. Download with or without subtitles, or save the cartoon to your assets.

How much does a cartoon cost?

  • Seedance 2.5: 252 credits a minute, 2016 for 8 minutes.
  • Seedance 2.0: 189 credits a minute, 1512 for 8 minutes.
  • Seedance 2.0 Fast (quick drafts): 152 credits a minute, 1210 for 8 minutes.
  • Seedance 2.0 Mini: 126 credits a minute; the shortest cartoon (15 seconds) costs 32.
  • Captions are included. Every model delivers 720p.

The whole cartoon is charged once, when it starts. If your balance is too low, nothing is charged. If the cartoon fails before anything has been animated, the credits go back to your balance automatically.

Which plan do I need?

Kartoonz is on the Creator plan and above (Creator, Pro, Max and Business). A cartoon uses credits from your plan or from a credit pack. On a lower plan the studio asks you to upgrade before anything is charged.

Got any questions left?

How long can a cartoon be?

From 15 seconds up to 8 minutes: the slider starts at 15 seconds, then goes up a minute at a time.

Can I keep my own character?

Yes. Add it from your uploads, generations or saved assets and it leads the whole story, keeping the same look throughout. Only use images you have the rights to.

Are the cartoons fully animated, with voices and dialogue?

Yes. The characters move, lip-sync and speak their lines, with the sound included. Seedance 2.5 and Seedance 2.0 hold likeness and motion best.

How many 5-minute cartoons can I make with 1,000 credits?

A 5-minute cartoon is about 630 credits on Seedance 2.0 Mini, 760 on Seedance 2.0 Fast, 945 on Seedance 2.0 and 1260 on Seedance 2.5. So 1,000 credits is roughly 1 five-minute cartoons on Seedance 2.0 Mini, or 1 on Seedance 2.0. Shorter cartoons cost proportionally less.

Can I download it without captions?

Yes. With captions on, you can download the cartoon with or without subtitles.

Can I use Kartoonz for a faceless YouTube, TikTok or Reels account?

Yes: make landscape 16:9 cartoons for YouTube and portrait 9:16 for Shorts, TikTok and Reels. Kartoonz can't promise views or income. YouTube's monetization rules require original, authentic content (mass-produced or repetitive videos aren't eligible), so make a new story for every video.
